Before You Choose Your Manzanita Branches...

Manzanita trees grow along the west coast and in select areas inland in the westen united states. Known for their unique and exquisite appearance, these small to mid sized trees give rise to beautiful and elegant branches, strong yet sleek wrapped in a smooth red bark. In the spring time their white blossoms attract bees and insects and speckle the ground around the trees.  This is when the manzanita is most beautiful, deep red, light green, and white, in the late summer and fall the manzanita looses it's manzanitas' or "little apples" and they fall into the leaves and dried blossoms around the tree.

Manzanita and the Environment

Let's talk about the environmental situation when it comes to "natural" manzanita branches, painted branches, and sandblasted branches. Natural branches are basically the manzanita branch as it appears on the tree (without the leaves). Natural branches are often the simplest and cheapest way to purchase your branches from other dealers. This is because they are doing very little to the branch, e.g. using it in it's natural state. The problem is that "natural" branches necessarily come from a live, or recently cut down tree...

roviding your bird utmost care includes providing them with quality bird perches.  Here are some answers to common queries to help you take care of your birds and their bird perches.

How do I install a manzanita bird perch inside my bird cage?

Place the main perch horizontally in the center of the cage.  You can get mounting brackets from your pet store.  Some perches come with their own so it won’t be much of a problem fastening them.  This is where your bird will spend most of its time so provide ample space between the perch and the top of the cage.  A smaller perch for roosting can be placed in a corner that is far from any distractions...

It is also a good idea to install a feeding perch. They should be properly spaced from the feeding tray and must not be placed directly above the food to avoid dropping getting into their feeder.
